Motorola offer a range of professional 2 - way portable radios. The GP and GP Plus are conventional commercial quality radios which are built to meet military specifications and tested to MIL810 (C,D & E) military specification standards including temperature extremes, solar radiation, rain, humidity, salt, fog, dust, vibration and shock. A more recent development is the GP Plus Series of portable radio which is a small compact radio retaining all the features of the larger models. The GP Plus offers benefits to those users who require a radio which can be easier to carry because of particular work considerations.

Motorola offers 2 different models in its MPT trunked professional radio series - PTX760 AND PTX780. The PTX series physical design is based on the GP/GP Plus series of portable radios.
