Forest Link was established in 1992 and is a division of ALCOM Communication Services.

The role of Forest Link is to provide conventional channel space for customers either requiring shared channel or exclusive channel service. In 1992 Telecom was migrating all its conventional channel customers (mainly on 'A' band conventional channels) to the new Trunked Despatch Mobile Radio Network. This promotion did not suit all of its customers and it was an approach by a number of businesses to ALCOM Communication Services that prompted it to establish a repeater site for local area coverage.
